You spend an hour scrolling through looks that start to blur into one another, and the same question is still there at the end: which one would actually sit right on your shape? Fashion-people.fr is built on a simple idea: an outfit makes more sense when you talk it through than when you just look at it.

Fashion news, unpicked rather than just displayed

Every day, the site puts ready-to-wear trends under the microscope, for womenswear and menswear alike. On the list: cut and drape, fabric and texture, the print that holds a whole look together — not only the statement piece you admire in a photo without knowing what to do with it. And crucially, you can answer back. Leave a comment, give your view, share the piece you love: fashion there moves like a conversation, never like a catalogue.

The good buys, and the real reason to stay a while

The team selects pieces for their style as much as their price. In practice, this is where the site earns its keep: helping you accessorise the wardrobe you already own, build layering that lasts until November, rather than adding yet another piece to an already packed wardrobe. A capsule wardrobe is built like that, step by step, by watching what actually works on you.

A profile, a portfolio, a 'Top Fashion'

Each member can create a profile and bring their photos together there, like an online portfolio. The customisation tools are there to help you build a look that feels like you, not to copy someone else's. A private messaging feature lets you talk to whoever you choose, and comments bring profiles and images to life. The most noticed members can appear in the 'Top Fashion'.

You don't need to post your photos to get something out of the site: reading, commenting and saving a couple of outfit ideas is more than enough.

Budget

As a rough guide, budget around £15–30 for a basic top, £40–90 for a pair of jeans and £60–140 for a jacket. In charity or vintage shops, or on resale platforms, you can often stay under £20. Price shifts with the material — linen or certified organic cotton costs more than a synthetic blend — as well as the brand, the season and where you buy: a supermarket clothing range, a specialist retailer, a charity shop or an online store. If you want to buy better, read the composition and the label: GOTS requires a minimum organic fibre content and processing criteria; OEKO-TEX Standard 100 only covers the absence of harmful substances in the finished product, not the origin of the fibre. For end of life, textile collection banks and charity shops take clothes that are no longer wearable.
